FlashcardsLuna YouTube API Disclosure
FlashcardsLuna is a language-learning platform available at https://flashcardsluna.com. The public website lets users study vocabulary and flashcard decks. Public website users do not use YouTube API features, do not connect their YouTube accounts to FlashcardsLuna, and cannot trigger YouTube API actions through the website.
Internal YouTube Publishing Workflow
FlashcardsLuna uses YouTube API Services only for an internal, owner-operated publishing workflow. This workflow is used to publish FlashcardsLuna-owned educational videos generated from FlashcardsLuna flashcard decks to owner-managed YouTube channels.
The workflow may use YouTube Data API functionality to:
- upload FlashcardsLuna educational videos;
- set or update video titles, descriptions, tags, thumbnails, privacy status, and scheduled publish times;
- create, find, update, and organize playlists;
- add uploaded videos to playlists;
- read back video, playlist, channel, and upload status information for verification and operational records;
- update owner-managed channel branding where applicable.
No Public YouTube API Access
FlashcardsLuna does not provide public YouTube API access to website users. Users of the public website cannot authorize YouTube permissions through FlashcardsLuna, cannot upload videos through FlashcardsLuna, cannot manage YouTube channels through FlashcardsLuna, and cannot perform YouTube actions from the website.
YouTube Account Authorization
The YouTube API workflow is authorized only by the owner or authorized operator of the FlashcardsLuna-managed YouTube channels. Authorization is used only to manage FlashcardsLuna-owned YouTube channels and videos.
FlashcardsLuna does not request, collect, store, or process YouTube login credentials. Authentication and authorization are handled by Google OAuth.
YouTube API Data Used
The workflow may access and store limited YouTube API data needed to operate and verify publishing, including:
- authorized channel identifiers and channel metadata;
- uploaded video identifiers, titles, descriptions, tags, thumbnails, privacy status, and scheduled publish times;
- playlist identifiers, playlist metadata, and playlist item identifiers;
- upload/readback status, publication status, and basic operational logs;
- OAuth tokens required to maintain authorized access to owner-managed channels.
This data is used only for publishing, scheduling, organizing, verifying, and maintaining FlashcardsLuna educational videos on YouTube.
Data Sharing
FlashcardsLuna does not sell YouTube API data and does not share it with advertisers or unrelated third parties. Limited technical processing may occur through infrastructure providers used to operate the internal publishing workflow, such as GitHub Actions and secure storage for workflow credentials.
YouTube API data is not made available to public website users.
Data Retention and Deletion
Operational publishing records may be retained as long as needed to prevent duplicate uploads, verify publication status, maintain playlists, troubleshoot failures, and comply with applicable legal or platform obligations.
If YouTube authorization is revoked or no longer needed, FlashcardsLuna will stop using the related access token and delete stored authorized YouTube API data associated with that authorization as soon as reasonably possible and within the timeframes required by YouTube API Services policies.

Revoking Google/YouTube Access
Authorized Google/YouTube account owners can revoke FlashcardsLuna's access at any time through Google account permissions:
After access is revoked, FlashcardsLuna will no longer be able to use the revoked authorization for YouTube API operations.
