Terms of Service

1. General Provisions

The Service is provided exclusively to persons who have reached 18 years of age. Use by anyone under 18 is prohibited. The User is responsible for complying with the age restriction. FlashcardsLuna may restrict access when these Terms or applicable law are violated.

Registration requires providing an email, nickname, and password. First and last name are optional. The User guarantees the accuracy of the provided data and bears full responsibility for the confidentiality of login/password and all actions under their account, including the internal messenger and social network.

2. License and Service Functionality

FlashcardsLuna grants the User a non-exclusive, limited, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for personal educational purposes. The Service includes flashcards, an AI assistant, text-to-speech, an internal messenger, a social network, and progress analytics.

FlashcardsLuna may change or limit functionality and usage limits and may perform technical maintenance. Changes to paid entitlements are subject to the active subscription, payment-provider rules, and applicable law.

The Service is educational. FlashcardsLuna does not guarantee successful exam completion (including HSK) and does not provide official certification.

3. Paid Access and Subscription

Paid features may include monthly and annual subscriptions, one-time AI credits packs, and digital learning content. The price, billing period, included features, and auto-renewal terms are shown before purchase confirmation.

In the Android application, purchases of digital features are processed exclusively through Google Play Billing. Website purchases are processed through Paddle. FlashcardsLuna does not receive or store the full payment card number or the User's payment-account credentials.

Subscription management, cancellation, and refunds: a Google Play subscription is managed in the User's Google Play account; a website subscription is managed through the Paddle payment portal. Cancellation stops future renewals but normally preserves access through the paid period unless the provider or applicable law states otherwise. Refunds are governed by the relevant payment provider's rules and applicable law.

Luna Points are FlashcardsLuna's closed-loop internal currency for permitted purchases within the Service. Luna Points are not cryptocurrency, money, or an investment; they have no value outside the Service, cannot be withdrawn or exchanged for money, and cannot be transferred outside the Service.

AI credits are separate internal usage units for AI, translation, generation, and text-to-speech features. AI credits are not Luna Points, cannot be withdrawn or exchanged for money, and cannot be converted into Luna Points.

4. User Content

The User retains ownership of their content and grants FlashcardsLuna a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license only to the extent needed to store, process, display, deliver to recipients selected by the User, moderate, and provide Service features. Content is sent to AI, translation, or text-to-speech providers only when the User invokes the relevant feature.

The User guarantees that uploaded content: does not violate third-party rights (copyrights, trademarks); does not contain prohibited content (pornography, extremism, fraud); does not harm the Service or other users.

FlashcardsLuna may remove or restrict content and accounts that violate these Terms, third-party rights, or applicable law.

5. Code of Conduct

In the internal messenger and social network, the following are prohibited: spam, advertising, fraud; insults, threats, discrimination; posting prohibited content; automated actions (bots, scraping).

FlashcardsLuna may moderate content and restrict accounts for violations. The User is responsible for content published under their account.

6. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without any guarantees of: uninterrupted operation; data or content preservation; AI assistant or text-to-speech accuracy; meeting User expectations.

To the extent permitted by law, FlashcardsLuna is not liable for failures of third-party services (including Google Play, Paddle, and hosting), third-party actions, learning outcomes, or indirect losses.

Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory User rights or liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

7. Termination of Access and Account Deletion

The User may request account deletion through settings or at support@flashcardsluna.com and confirm the request using the link sent by email. After confirmation, the account is deactivated immediately, access is blocked, and final deletion of core data is scheduled after 30 days. Certain records may be retained longer where required for security, billing, fraud prevention, backups, or legal compliance. Before deleting the account, the User must separately cancel any active Google Play or Paddle subscription.

8. Changes to Terms

FlashcardsLuna may update these Terms by publishing a new version on the website. Material changes will be communicated by an available method. The Terms take effect when published.
